Arthur Cambreling
Cello
Arthur Cambreling began playing the cello at the age of four at the Conservatoire de Chalon-sur-Saône with Yovan Markovitch, Annick Gautier, and then Blandine Odin. He really began to work on his instrument by listening to Anner Bylsma's recording of Vivaldi's sonatas, playing and replaying the disc to try to achieve the same phrasing. After four years at the Paris Conservatory with Hélène Dautry, he moved to Berlin to study at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule für Musik with Stephan Forck, and finally perfected his skills in Frankfurt, where he studied baroque cello and historical interpretation with Kristin Von der Goltz. He then settled in Paris, where he benefited from the guidance of Elena Andreyev. He now performs as a soloist and chamber musician, as well as with ensembles such as the Freiburger Barockorchester, the Opéra Royal de Versailles, Le Consort, and Jupiter.
