Double bass
Hugo Abraham played the violin as a child, then the viola da gamba and electric bass before discovering the double bass. After studying in Paris, Boston (New England Conservatory), and New York (The Juilliard School), he returned to France and performed in a rich and varied series of concerts with various specialized ensembles.
He performs music from the 17th to 19th centuries with Le Consort, Les Arts Florissants, and the Pygmalion ensemble, among others, and music from the 20th and 21st centuries with the Ictus ensemble. He is also a regular additional musician with the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra. He has participated in numerous recordings for Mirare, Alpha Classics, Erato Warner, and Harmonia Mundi, and tours throughout France and internationally throughout the year.
In addition to his performing activities, Hugo improvises, organizes concerts, and composes music.
